Welcome to the website for the Minonk Ambulance Association! Here you will find information on coming events of the Association and also a little about the members. This is a project in the works, so please bear with us as we continue to set up and update. Many people know there is an Association but are not completely aware what the Association actually does. I am here to shed a little light on the subject. The Minonk Ambulance Association is a collection of the members of the Minonk Ambulance Squad, however it is a separate entity all of it’s own. The Association is the support service of the members of the Squad. We are the voice for recruiting, public affairs, and the general support staff. Inside you will see pictures from different events that were held just for the members of the Minonk Ambulance Squad, these events were targeted for the families of the members. A chance to get together off duty and have a good time. These events happen off and on throughout the year. The donations received by the Association and the different fundraisers assist with these events. Those funds also go toward different Squad purposes as well, in 2006 the Association assisted the Squad with funds to purchase an air conditioner for a raffle that was held as a fund raiser for the Squad towards the purchase of a pediatric ALS training simulator. This simulator would assist the members of the Squad during training by allowing a more lifelike feel for different procedures during training, so if those skills are needed in real life they are better honed. The Association also purchases equipment for use by the members during official events, duty shifts, and for off duty events. Equipment such as folding tables, which have been used during training, meetings, Association sponsored gatherings, open houses, and by some of the members for birthday parties and garage sales. This equipment was intended, and is used for, making things a little easier for the members. Something else coming up that the funds generated throughout the year is pictures, members taking the time to show the pride in what they do and the community they serve. This brings us to you, the member of the community. I would like to take the time now to tell you how much I as a member of the Association appreciate your support in the past years and how much I look forward to continuing to serve you. I am available anytime to answer any of your questions, just email me at: dfreeman@minonkambulance.org If I don’t know the answer or am looking to go more in depth with the answer I will consult the entire Association during a regularly scheduled meeting. We meet the first Tuesday of the month. If that falls on a holiday it will be the Tuesday afterward. Any ideas you have or something you would like to see just let myself or the webmaster know as the situation applies. Any comments you have or thanks to be presented will also be passed along to the entire association during the meetings, this website is intended to be not only an information source but also a sounding board of sorts for you. If you think specific members did an outstanding job just drop a note to me and I will forward it along. If you don’t know how to use an email system or don’t have one set up, just drop it by the Ambulance shed and it will get to me or one of my other officers. Again, I would like to thank you for your support, without your support none of this would be possible. I look forward to hearing from those of you who would like to speak. If nothing else just stop me on the street and ask any questions you have or say what is on your mind. Yours truly, Doug Freeman President, Minonk Ambulance Association
